PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Cullman’s boys earn 74-61 road win over Hanceville

Cullman improved to 2-0 this season with a 74-61 road win over Hanceville on Tuesday night.

Jayden Sullins racked up 13 points, eight assists and seven rebounds for the Bearcats, while Cooper Beck and JD Parrish provided 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Kaleb Heatherly and Jimnie Chau Le notched eight points apiece as well.

“Hard-fought win over a very talented Hanceville team,” Cullman coach Bobby Meyer said.

RJ Evans had a team-high 18 points for the Bulldogs (1-1).

Fred Ellis (16) and Romain Pochon (12) also netted double-digit performances.

% Cold Springs 70, Vinemont 38: Adam Hill recorded 28 points, Landyn Freeman pitched in 14 and the Eagles breezed to a home victory on Tuesday night.

Cold Springs (1-1) had five other players secure at least three points as well.

Connor Handley led all Vinemont (0-2) scorers with 12 points in the loss.


Varsity Girls

% Cullman 79, Hanceville 57: Olivia Neal netted a team-high 19 points to lift the Lady Bearcats to a road victory versus the Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday night.

Cullman (2-0) garnered double-digit contributions from Hannah Hoffman (16) and Alexandria Barker (11) as well. Anna Katherine Eastman and Anna Grace Murphy totaled nine and eight points, respectively, to round out the top offensive performers for coach Josh Hembree.

Hanceville (1-1) was paced by Malia Howell’s 26-point outing. Kelly Pickett added 13 points.

% Cold Springs 66, Vinemont 19: Camryn Crider led all scorers with 19 points to help the Lady Eagles snag their first victory of the season on Tuesday night.

Neely Ellison netted nine points for Cold Springs (1-1), while Kylon Hamby and Lina Lieckfeld provided seven apiece. Five other players collected at least three points in the home win.

Bailey Preiss led Vinemont (0-2) with six points.


Junior Varsity Girls

% Cold Springs 64, Vinemont 7: Madison Bruer turned in a 16-point effort to guide the home team to a triumph on Tuesday night.

Kyla Aaron (14) and Emma Chambers (10) also reached double figures for Cold Springs.
