The Tigers, meanwhile, improved to 5-3 overall and 4-1 in region play.

J.B. Pennington’s balanced offense got 133 yards and a touchdown from Sheldon Blythe on the ground as the Tigers rolled up 194 rushing yards.

Allison’s top target through the air was Cole Littleton, who hauled in 10 passes for 132 yards and two scores.

While J.B. Pennington put the game away in the second half, the Eagles managed to keep it close through the first two quarters.

A pair of fourth-down stops and an interception by Teague Whatley kept Vinemont within striking distance, though J.B. Pennington was still able to manage a 20-6 lead by the break.

Allison fired the opening salvo for the Tigers, finding Littleton for a 13-yard touchdown at the 7:40 mark of the first quarter. David Blaxton made it 14-0 with a 6-yard scoring run on J.B. Pennington’s next possession.

Vinemont’s offense finally got something going midway through the second quarter via the arm and legs of quarterback Jack Hill. The junior signal caller called his own number for several runs before tossing a picture-perfect pass down the sideline to Whatley for a 37-yard touchdown.

But the Eagles couldn’t get the stop they needed on the Tigers’ ensuing possession.

Facing fourth-and-9, Allison rolled right to pass but found a lane down the sideline for a 23-yard touchdown to make what would be the halftime score.

Blythe’s 33-yard touchdown run up the gut on the Tigers’ first possession of the second half stretched their advantage, and Allison’s 24-yard touchdown toss to Littleton made it 34-6 with less than a minute remaining in the third frame.

Vinemont scored its final touchdown with 5:06 to play on Dustin Moore’s 59-yard sprint.

Moore ended the game with 83 yards on just five carries, keying a rushing attack that gained 136 yards.

Hill completed 7 of 18 passes for 87 yards, connecting with Whatley four times for 73 yards.

Vinemont wraps up region play next week with a trip to Holly Pond.
