Roundup: Tabernacle, Pinson, Fultondale score region wins

Tabernacle Christian 56, New Life 30
The pressure was on and Tabernacle Christian delivered on the road Friday night. This win earns the Torches (4-3, 2-2) one of the four playoff slots available in the Christian Football Association playoffs, which begin later this month.
Tabernacle took a two-touchdown lead into the locker room and later finished New Life with a healthy balance of run and pass. The Torches, led by junior Tony Galbraith, ran for a total of 314 yards to go with another 142 yards through the air.
Galbraith ran for 147 yards and two touchdowns while Isaac Anderson provided another 73 yards and twin touchdown runs for the Torches. Both also scored 2-point conversions.
Drew Peters and Anderson shared the passing duties, although Peters led the charge with 103 yards to go with two scores on a 3 for 4 effort. Anderson also finished 3 for 4 through the air, producing 39 yards and a touchdown.
Galbraith caught four passes for 101 yards and two scores. Junior Josiah Davis secured two receptions for 40 yards and a touchdown.
Pinson Valley 42, Gardendale 7
Pinson Valley quarterback Bo Nix threw for 240 yards and three touchdowns, as his Indians beat Gardendale 42-7 at home Friday night.
His touchdowns went to Gaquincey McKinstry (19 yards), Demarion Holloman (11 yards) and Keyonteze Johnson (57 yards).
Gardendale put together one scoring drive, which finished with a 4-yard run by quarterback Goose Crowder. The Rockets trailed 14-7 with 1:14 remaining in the second quarter.
The second-ranked Indians outgained Gardendale 361-137.
Pinson visits Huffman next Friday while Gardendale takes an open date.
Fultondale 33, Vinemont 12
On a night when Fultondale lost three fumbles and took the field without starting quarterback Jayson Jones, the Wildcats (5-1, 4-0) still found a way to win, convincingly.
According to stats provided by the team, junior Javon Davis handled the quarterback duties in place of Jones. Davis went 11 for 21 through the air for 153 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. Will Smith was his favorite target, pulling down four receptions for 85 yards and a score.
Eyren Boyd ran the ball 14 times for 87 yards and two touchdowns.
For Vinemont (2-4, 1-2), Dalton Dinkle ran for 117 yards on 28 calls.
No. 7 Fultondale takes on Midfield at home next week in a crucial Class 3A, Region 5 matchup.
