Bremen woman’s body found in Smith Lake

An autopsy has been order after a Bremen woman drowned in Smith Lake.
The body of Jamie Mardell Martin, 28, was found early Sunday morning in the water near a residence on County Road 67 in Bremen, Cullman County Coroner Jeremy L. Kilpatrick said.
He said Martin was from North Carolina but had been living in Cullman County.
A spokesman for the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office said an investigation into the woman’s death is underway.
