Funeral planning

Free seminars on funerals will begin Thursday at Moss Service Funeral Home.

The first session will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Moss and will include discussions on the benefits of funeral rituals to survivors, the function of funerals within the grief process, the steps in the funeral, a funeral director’s role and resources, information on funeral options and costs, and funeral preparation and planning.

The Friday session, also at 6:30 p.m., will focus on funeral customs and rituals specific to Christian, Jewish, Islamic, Buddhist, and Hindu faiths as well as Asian culture; how to communicate confidently with others of different faiths and cultures about end-of-life issues; and developing stronger personal relations based on greater knowledge and understanding.

The information gained in the seminars will be able to be used at any funeral home.
