South’s largest record show in Gardendale this weekend

Record collectors, hobbyists and those with a casual interest in records will converge on the Gardendale Civic Center this weekend for the 34th annual Birmingham Record Collector Show.
The show, which organizers boast is the largest in the South and the second largest in the country, features records from every genre, ever decade and includes CDs, LPs, 45s and 78s. Dealers, buyers and collectors come from all over the U.S., Europe and Japan for the show each year. The collections cover more than 125 tables with music and memorabilia.
The show will open Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a special early bird show available with membership in the Birmingham Record Collectors. Membership during this event is $25 for one year or $50 for a lifetime membership.
The show will open to the public officially at 4 p.m. on Friday and will remain open until 8 p.m. The show will also be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
There will be an admission fee of $5 per person (kids 12 and under are free). There will also be free parking.
