- Cullman County School Board candidate Shane Rusk watches election results with Cullman County Probate Judge Tammy Brown.
Shane Rusk has won the Republican primary runoff for Cullman County School Board District N. 2, which represents Fairview and Parkside.
The race for the Cullman County School Board seat was the only local race on the ballot for Cullman County, and Rusk received 523 votes against Michael Knop, who got 435.
“I’m humbled,” Rusk said. “I just believe that this is where I need to be and this is where I need to go.”
Rusk said school safety was his main priority, and he will go to work to make sure the students and teachers of the county are safe when they are on school campuses.
“I am going to work extremely hard to provide students and teachers with the resources that they need to be successful,” he said.
CCBOE District No. 7, which represents Good Hope, was decided earlier in June, with Kerry Neighbors defeating the incumbent Jason Speegle.
Kenny Brockman representing the Hanceville District and Mike Graves who represents Vinemont, both ran unopposed.
