FULTONDALE—The Fultondale City Council last Monday approved a rezoning request for approximately 8.47 acres off Hwy 31 N and Honeysuckle Road. Boyd-Tucker Company had requested the change from B-2 tp R-1 for residential building. The council approved the request.

One representative from 100 Oaks questioned whether a buffer in place around that property would remain in place with the rezoning. The council said it would and the representative said they were not opposed to the rezoning. No one else spoke at the public hearing.

According to the application, the company plans to build homes on the land but no additional plans were revealed at the hearing or council meeting. No date has been set for beginning the project.

In other business, the council:

•approved a business license request for Wicked Halloween, LLC to do business at 3477 Lowery Parkway (in the old Rue 21 building). The store will sell Halloween costumes, decorations and more Halloween items. The store will be seasonal.
