Roy Drinkard holds a resolution from state Sen. Gerald Dial honoring his 98th birthday on Thursday.

Roy H. Drinkard was honored with a resolution Thursday recognizing his 98th birthday from state Sen. Gerald Dial.

Known by many people as Mr. Drinkard, Mr. Roy, Uncle Roy, pawpaw and most of all he is referred to as friend, Roy proudly calls Cullman home. 

He actively works all over the Southeast and could live any where but no place is like Cullman for him. He has been known to end many business trips early so that he can get on his King Air and fly back to Cullman to not miss what has become known as “Pawpaws night at his home.”

On Pawpaws night he entertains his great-grandchildren every Tuesday night. He actively runs and directs his office at Drinkard Development while proudly serving as a Trustee at Troy University.
