LITTLE LEAGUE: Gardendale crowns 3 state All-Star champions

It’s been a big week for Gardendale baseball.
Last Tuesday the Rockets hoisted state championship trophies in both the 9U and 6U Dizzy Dean All-Star divisions. And last night the 7U Rockets made it a trio of titles for the maroon and white.
The 9U All-Stars beat North Chilton in the state finals by a count of 5-2. Gardendale won the state crown on its home field in Moncrief Park.
The 6U All-Stars traveled north to Madison, and came back with the top prize after outlasting Northport in an offensive shootout last Tuesday.
Gardendale edged the Nationals 13-12 in the state championship game.
Gardendale’s 7U Maroon team earned its third straight Dizzy Dean state title with a 16-1 drubbing of Madison on Tuesday night in Madison.
All three championship teams qualify for World Series play in Southaven, Miss.
