Flag Day celebration just around the corner

Local veterans are teaming up with the Cullman Elks Lodge this year to make sure Old Glory gets a proper tribute when Flag Day rolls around.
Cullman’s annual Flag Day celebration Flag Day will be hosted at the Cullman Elks Lodge this Wednesday, beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is free, and organizers are encouraging everyone to turn out for a family-friendly event featuring music, refreshments, and plenty of patriotism.

The annual celebration will be filled with patriotic music, a flag-centric history lesson, participation by local combat veterans from the local Veterans of Foreign Wars, and members of the Sons of the American Revolution, whose ancestors got it all started.
Greg Burks from Cullman-based band Round Two will be on hand to fill the room with patriotic music. Retired army Colonel Ralph Bryson, who after retiring served as Deputy Director of the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, will be the featured speaker.
