Peoples Bank on Cherokee Avenue is open for customers Tuesday after an air conditioning unit caught fire overnight.

Cullman Fire Rescue responded to the fire at 8:59 p.m. Monday and quickly extinguished the fire.

Crews from Servpro worked overnight and today to begin cleanup of light water and smoke issues that occurred.

“The fire department arrived quickly and we appreciate how they worked to extinguish the fire,” said Gwen Parker, senior vice president at Peoples.

Temporary air conditioning units have been installed until a replacement unit arrives Wednesday.

“Everything was up and running this morning for our customers,” Parker said.
