A woman has been indicted for murder and first degree hindering prosecution in connection with the death of a man whose body was found buried on her property.
Susan Winton Smith, 66, was indicted by a Cullman County grand jury. She previously was charged with hindering prosecution after the body of Daniel Ray Osborn II of Marshall County was found buried on her property in the Fairview area. Her grandson Andrew Maresh, and Tyler Hudson were charged with murder before she was charged.
The initial complaint alleged Smith’s grandson, Andrew Maresh, and Tyler Hudson told her on Feb. 3 they had killed Osborn and buried his body in her yard on Cullman County Road 1534.
On March 27, Maresh and Hudson were both charged with murder in Osborn’s death. Osborn’s body was found March 26.
