Cullman graduate to compete in Army’s Sullivan Cup

- Army Specialist Zachery Smith, right, a Cullman High School graduate, will be joining fellow tank crew members in the Army’s Sullivan Cup competition.
Cullman native SPC Zachery Smith will be representing Alabama and the Army 3rd Infantry Division in best tank crew competition at Fort Benning, April 30-May 4.
Smith, a Cullman High School graduate, has been in the Army 20 months, has been awarded the Army Achievement Medal and the Korean National Defense Ribbon for deployment to the Korean Peninsula, where he currently serves.
The tank crew competition is known as the Sullivan Cup and tests the best tank crews in the United States. Soldiers are tested physically and mentally for five days of live-fire exercises.
Smith is the son of Amy Crump of Cullman.
