The April 7 paper marks The Times’ first Weekend Edition, combining the Saturday and Sunday editions. There will be no Sunday Times in the future.
This change is part of the newspaper’s restructuring of its distribution services that started on Tuesday when the newspaper moved to delivery via the U.S. Postal Service.
The conversion of thousands of home-delivery subscribers to mail has gone well, according to Times Publisher Terry Connor.
“We understand subscribers are having to adjust some of their newspaper reading habits, but, overall, most audience members who have reached out to us understand the change was a business decision,” Connor said. “Additionally, we have heard from subscribers who are opting to use the digital delivery option of the newspaper for early morning delivery.”
As part of the Total Access subscription program, all Times subscribers have the option of receiving an e-edition (an exact digital replica of the newspaper) delivered to their email before 6 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday. To activate the e-edition, subscribers can go to cullmantimes.com and click on e-edition. Additionally, the newspaper offers a digital-only subscription, which can also be set up at cullmantimes.com.
The Times is still available in racks and select retail locations throughout Cullman County Tuesday through Saturday mornings.
