Firefighters responding at the scene were able to stop a fire that broke out at a local grocery store early Saturday before it could spread and cause extensive damage.
The Cullman Fire Department responded to a reported fire at Warehouse Discount Grocery on Alabama Highway 157 in Cullman Saturday. Chief Brian Bradberry said responders were able to contain the fire to the confined area where it had started.
“The store was evacuated and the fire was contained to a cooler area,” Bradberry said in a statement. “Station 3 C shift crew arrived quickly, and did a great job.”
The fire did not spread into the store’s retail area, he added.
No one was injured in the incident.
