Each year the Catholic Church invites those wishing to share all that this religious community offers through the chance to be welcomed into unity with the worldwide Roman Catholic Church on the solemn occasion of His Resurrection from the dead.

The yearly Easter Vigil services featured moving religious music by Sacred Heart’s Choir under the direction of Barry Stoner accompanied on the organ by Jannie Ratliff. In addition John Arsenault beautifully sang ‘The Easter Proclamation’ (Exsultet) surrounded by darkness in the Church. The congregation held individual lighted candles as John sang the hope that this light would overcome the darkness of the night. The song encapsulated the life of man from Adam’s sin through Israel’s heritage on to the wonder of Christ’s suffering and the opening of Heaven to all who believe.

The special Easter service, one of the longest in Church tradition, celebrated the triumphant resurrection of the Son of God following His cruel suffering and death on the Cross three days earlier on Good Friday.
