Former Pinson Valley band director indicted, charged with inappropriate contact with student

Adam Bearden, former Pinson Valley High School band director, has been indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury.
According to court records, the indictment was handed down on March 9. Bearden was arrested on March 24 and released from the Jefferson County jail less than two hours later on a $15,000 bond.
The charges stemmed from allegations that Bearden touched the buttocks of a female student.
The official charge is school employee having sexual contact with a student under the age of 19, which is a felony charge.
Bearded resigned from the school in 2017 after allegations surfaced of inappropriate contact with a student.
