Missing Hartselle man found dead in Fairview; 2 charged with murder

The body of a missing Hartselle man was found in Fairview Monday night, and two people have been arrested and charged with murder. 

The body of Daniel Ray Osborne II, who had been missing since Feb. 3, was found in Fairview Monday night, according to a Facebook post made Monday night by the Hartselle Police Department.

In a press release, Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry Cullman County Sheriff’s investigators and Hartselle Police Department investigators responded to an address in Fairivew Monday night, and Osborn’s body was found buried at the residence. 

After the discovery of the victim’s body, investigators working in conjunction with the Cullman County District Attorney’s Office, continued the investigation throughout the night.

Investigators identified and arrested two suspects Andrew Jacob Maresh, 19, of Hartselle and Tyler Stephen Hudson, 20, of Baileyton for the murder of Osborn.  

“I would like to commend the hard work and dedication from the Hartselle investigators and the investigators from the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office in working this case together. Our prayers go out to the victim’s family during this time of tragedy and loss,” Gentry said in the release. 

Maresh and Hudson are currently being held in the Cullman County Detention Center without a bond.

Hudson’s Facebook profile, which is public, features several posts about Osborn, including prayers for his wellbeing and shares of his missing poster. 

Maresh also posted about Osborn’s disappearance, sharing a post on the “Where’s Daniel Osborn” Facebook page.
