A counselor at Vinemont School has been charged with engaging in a sex act with a student under 19.

Chasity McRae, 35, of Cullman, was arrested following an investigation by the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office, according to a press release Monday.

The arrest was made Friday, but the investigation continued through the weekend before the announcement was made.

After corroborating the initial report involving McRae, McRae was arrested and has since been released on a $10,000 bond, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
