2 charged with distributing drugs

Two people have been arrested by Cullman police in connection with distributing methamphetamine.

Cullman Police Department Crime Suppression Unit officers on Monday arrested William Leroy Sturgeon Jr., 50, of Hanceville, on three counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance for allegedly selling methamphetamine. Sturgeon was arrested the day before on outstanding warrants for failure to appear and was incarcerated at the Cullman County Detention Center, according to a news release from the Cullman Police Department.

Crime Suppression Unit officers also arrested Jennifer Leigh Guthery, 47, of Cullman on Monday for two counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance. Guthery was placed in the Cullman County Detention Center where she has since made bond.
