Published 3:58 pm Wednesday, February 7, 2018

Cullman’s Dylan Finch put on a show this past week.

The senior produced a double-double (11 points and 10 rebounds) in a 68-50 Senior Night triumph against Hartselle before almost crafting a triple-double (22 points, 13 rebounds and eight blocks) in a 76-58 victory versus Fort Payne in the semifinals of the Class 6A, Area 14 Tournament.

Finch, who helped the Bearcats improve to 18-12 and garner a sub-regional berth, leads his team in points (14.7) and rebounds (9.8) per contest.

Let’s go ahead and make him The Times’ Athlete of the Week. Finch also collected the honor in December.

Zane Manley (10 against Hartselle and 14 against Fort Payne), Drew Morton (17 against Hartselle), Jake McAfee (16 points against Hartselle) and Trey Tucker (12 points against Fort Payne) also delivered great outings for coach Bobby Meyer’s squad.

Athlete of the Week, which is sponsored by Mitch Smith Chevrolet, is open to all local athletes.

Nominations can be sent to jwinfrey@cullmantimes.com with the person’s name, school and statistics.
