- Christmas music
Music and Christmas go together like marshmallows and coca, so if you’re in need of a little locally-supported holiday spirit — to benefit a great local cause — head on over to the Cullman Civic Center this Sunday afternoon.
The Cullman Community Band will perform its annual Christmas concert Sunday starting at 3 p.m. at the civic center. Part of the Cullman Community Concert Association’s 2017-2018 season of performances, admission to the Christmas concert is free.
Organizers ask that each family or individual, instead of paying an admission fee, bring a nonperishable food item as a donation to the Cullman Caring for Kids Food Bank. Monetary donations of any amount are also welcome, and will go directly to Cullman Caring for Kids.
Made up entirely of music-loving volunteers, the Cullman Community Band practices throughout the fall and conducts two signature performances — one typically for Oktoberfest; the other at Christmastime. Membership in the band is open to any interested local person who plays a band instrument.
Check out the Community Band’s Facebook page at facebook.com/CullmanCommunityBand to learn more about joining the band, or to simply follow its schedule of events.
