All over but the voting: Senate will be decided Tuesday

- Roy Moore, left, and Doug Jones are vying for Alabama's U.S Senate seat in the Dec. 12 special election
With the U.S. Senate election finally reaching the hands of the voters Tuesday, polls are showing the race too close to call.
The Associated Press reports the lead has been a seesaw in the final weeks of campaigning, with Republican Roy Moore fending off accusations of sexual misconduct in the 1970s and Democrat Doug Jones trying to break the GOP’s long lock on Alabama’s political seats.

Moore will be in Midland Monday evening with Steve Bannon, the former adviser to President Donald Trump in a “Drain the Swamp” rally. Jones, meanwhile, is working to motivate voters to go to the polls.
The special election to replace Jeff Sessions, who became U.S. Attorney General under Trump, has stirred heated debates across the nation as Moore and Jones bring two clearly different reputations and records from serving in public office.
Moore has twice been removed from serving as chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court after flaps over a Ten Commandments statue and his actions when the U.S. Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage. Jones worked with the late U.S. Sen. Howell Heflin of Alabama and later prosecuted two Ku Klux Klan members for the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing that killed four girls.
The campaign has seen Moore preach Alabama values and moral positions while Jones has focused on the economy and healthcare issues.
Even with the allegations pending against Moore, he has received endorsements from numerous Republican officials, from Gov. Kay Ivey to the Cullman County Republican Party. Some Republicans, including U.S. Richard Shelby have said they would not vote for Moore and said he should quit the race.
The polls will open at 7 a.m. in Cullman County and close at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
