Coach Richie Penn was happy to see his team pull through in a close game.

“It was tight there at the end,” he said. “We were hoping to work some time off the clock and not force any shots. But we rushed a little, and they closed in on the lead. But we made enough plays. There are areas we can improve on for sure. But we came out with a solid win, and that’s a positive. We will move forward and keep trying to improve.”

Miriam Oldacre (13 points), Olivia Ball (13), Brooke Brownfield (nine), Shadix (eight) and Micah Oldacre (seven) put together multiple buckets for the Lady Raiders.

“We’re having to come together,” Campbell said. “Everyone is still trying to find their roles right now. Mrs. West just tells us to shoot the ball when we’re open. She tells us, ‘You miss all the shots you don’t take.’ We just want to play hard right now, play smart in the middle of the season and put everything together at the end of the season.”
