COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Former Cullman County standouts take floor in UAH-Alabama exhibition

A trio of former Cullman County basketball standouts took the floor in Monday’s exhibition between UAH and Alabama.
Chayse Elliott (Cold Springs) and Seth Swalve (Cullman) competed for the Chargers, while Lawson Schaffer (Cullman) did the same for the Crimson Tide inside Coleman Coliseum.

Elijah Garrison (Fairview) made the trip for UAH but didn’t play in Alabama’s 74-65 victory.
Elliott netted 14 points on 5-of-13 shooting in 31 minutes to go along with a rebound and an assist. Swalve contributed a rebound and an assist but missed his lone shot attempt of the contest in 10 minutes of action.
Schaffer, meanwhile, missed a pair of 3-point shots en route to corralling a rebound and an assist in six minutes.
The Crimson Tide opens the season Friday against Memphis, while the Chargers will take on Saint Leo Saturday.
