Dense Fog Advisory

The National Weather Service in Huntsville has issued a dense fog advisory until 9 a.m. Saturday.

Dense fog has developed quickly this evening and will continue into Saturday morning for areas along and east of Interstate 65.

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

A combination of a very humid airmass, recent rainfall, a weak frontal boundary, and patchy smoke has allowed fog to rapidly develop tonight.

Locations in northeast Alabama and southern middle Tennessee have seen visibilities drop to one quarter mile or less this evening.

Expect these conditions to continue overnight before beginning to improve after sunrise Saturday.
