Plans for Christmas parade, Holly Market in place

With Halloween over and November upon us, Cullman Parks and Recreation is gearing up for the holiday season by preparing for their Christmas Parade and Holly Market Arts & Crafts Show.

Cullman Parks and Recreation will be hosting this year’s Christmas Parade on Friday, Dec. 1 starting at 6 p.m. 

The parade route will go through downtown Cullman beginning at the Busy Bee Café and go down 1st Ave. ending at Depot Park. 

Entries are now being taken at the Cullman Civic Center or online at www.cullmanrecreation.org. Entry into the parade is free; entrants need to fill out a from that can be picked up and returned to the Cullman Civic Center or complete the application online. 

Any types of entries are accepted, but floats must be lit or have some kind of Christmas lighting as part of their floats. The deadline to enter is Nov. 29 at 5 p.m.

Cullman Parks and Recreation will also be hosting its annual “Holly Market” Christmas Arts & Crafts Show at the Cullman Civic Center on Dec. 1-2. The show will feature over 80 vendors of handmade craft items of all sorts. 

Vendors will range in a variety from handmade jewelry, wood working, handmade clothing and apparel, food items, pottery, and other hand made items. 

The show will take place on Dec. 1 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Dec. 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission to the show is free.
