The new restaurant plans to hire 50 employees. Those interested in working there can apply in person 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Friday. It’s located at 5901 Alabama 157.
Popeye’s has been under construction at the Chevron service station at St. Joseph Drive. It will join the current location at Dodge City on Alabama 69.
Founded in 1972, Popeye’s owes its beginnings to entrepreneur and culinary innovator, Al Copeland. With one small restaurant and a big idea, Copeland introduced the New Orleans–style fried chicken that has now made the brand famous throughout the world.
Named after the New Orleans detective Popeye Doyle from the classic film “The French Connection,” its menu showcases rich Cajun and creole flavor profiles that are unmistakably Louisiana. It is one of the world’s largest chicken quick service restaurants, with over 2,700 restaurants in the U.S. and around the world.
