A Cullman man was arrested last week after a traffic stop led Cullman Police officers to discover a stolen rifle and counterfeit money.
On Oct. 11, Cullman Police Department Sgt. Chris Thomason and Officer Dustin Colburn stopped a pickup truck driven by Daniel Stewart Cochran for a traffic infraction on St. Joseph Street NW.
During the traffic stop, officers gained consent to search the vehicle and recovered a stolen rifle from inside the vehicle along with counterfeit U.S. currency that Cochran had on his person. They also found that he had multiple warrants with another agency.
Cochran was placed under arrest for fourth degree receiving stolen property and first degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, as well as the outstanding warrants. He was placed in the Cullman County Detention Center where he still remains.
