UPDATE: The Cullman Police Department has a suspect in custody, but a name has not been released by the department.
Police are searching for a man who robbed the main branch of Traditions Bank on U.S. 31 just after 11 a.m. today.
The suspect is described by Cullman Police as a white male wearing a powder blue cap and gray t-shirt. Assistant Police Chief Craig Montgomery said the man appeared to be middle-aged and left in a dark-colored Jeep Liberty.
“We’re still interviewing people. The man came in with a note that he gave a teller and said he had a gun, but never showed a weapon,” Montgomery said.
No one was injured during the robbery.
“He did leave with an undisclosed amount of money. We will hopefully have more information soon. We know it appeared that he was traveling south on 31 after the incident,” Montgomery said.
