Waldreps celebrate 50 years of marriage

On Sunday, June 11, 2017, Edsel “Bo” Waldrep and his wife, Judy Hyde Waldrep, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at Loft 212 in Cullman, with 600 of their family and friends in attendance.

The event was hosted by the couple’s children, Scott Waldrep of Cullman and Troy and Jennifer Waldrep Nicholson of Hendersonville, Tenn., along with their grandchildren, Michael Nicholson of Durham, N.C., Michaela Nicholson and Macy Nicholson, both of Hendersonville.

Helping register the guests were Kathy Kilpatrick and Tiffany Kilpatrick, Krewson Heller and Susan Parvin, all of Alabaster.

Servers at the reception were Cindy Hyde Sims of Aiken, S.C., Kathy Hyatt of Rock Hill, S.C., Jan Waldrep Pratt of Pottsboro, Texas, and Donna Baggett of the Jones Chapel community.

Children’s table servers were Heather Blanks of Hanceville, Mary Daniel, Taylor Burgess, Bridgett Legg, Lisa Owens, Candice Parris, Shiloh Walker and Tekoa Walker, all of Cullman.

Receiving at the gift table were Mary Aderhold of Cullman, Margaret Bell and Wanda Laney, both of the Jones Chapel community, Myra Jones of Spring Hill community, Brook Sims and Ashley Tindall, both of Aiken, S.C.

Attendants at the receiving line were Ozzy Heller, Sully Heller, Chris Kilpatrick, Matthew Kilpatrick, all of Alabaster, and Michael Kilpatrick of Helena.

Singers at the reception were Bo and Mary Ellen Harkness of Cullman.

The cake was designed and prepared by Sara Yarbrough of Cullman.

Bo and Judy were married Sunday, June 11, 1967, in Jones Chapel. Bo is the son of Johnny and Leona Duboise Waldrep of the Nesmith community. Judy is the daughter of Howard and Nettie Williamson Hyde of Jones Chapel. Bo has cut hair in Cullman for 51 years and Judy retired after 40 years of service as a paralegal from the state of Alabama, Cullman District Attorney’s office.
