Gardendale Mayor Stan Hogeland announced Tuesday via his Facebook page that the long-awaited Moe’s Southwest restaurant that had been announced in the shopping center that houses Publix and Hobby Lobby will happen. Issues with the developer and franchise owner stalled the development, but Hogeland said those had been worked out. Construction on the building, which will be on the end of the shopping center, next to T.J. Maxx, will begin in October and the location should open mid-April to mid-May of 2018. 

“Thankful that everything worked out,” Hogeland posted. “Can’t wait to hear ‘Welcome to Moes!'”
