PREP FOOTBALL: Fairview ready to face challenges ahead

FAIRVIEW — The Aggies made the playoffs in six of their first seven years under head coach George Redding.

Over the past three seasons, however, Fairview has been unable to punch a ticket to the postseason.

All it takes is one solid campaign to turn things around.

Though the Purple and Gold have to replace Ragan Ashley and Logan Brooks in the backfield, there’s no shortage of confidence to be found at fall camp this week.

The Aggies must avoid a slow start, though, having opened up their previous three seasons with a 1-3 record.

Coach Speak: “If you don’t have a good attitude, a good work ethic and a lot of excitement at this time of the year, you’re in the wrong business. We have had that. We had to go in the gym on Day 1 of fall camp, and it was maybe one of the most exciting days we’ve had since I’ve been here at Fairview.” — George Redding

Player Speak: “I always enjoy football. I can release some anger and be around the guys. We have a special bond here at Fairview. It’s really a brotherhood. We look to each other for help, support and motivation.” — Eric Taylor

“There’s a lot of excitement coming into this season, because it’s the first time we’re coming back to Dafford Smith Stadium.” — Dayne Black

“I believe we’re going to be a pretty good team, because every guy out here is stepping up.” — Ethan Holland
