When Stephen Robinson was officially announced as Vinemont’s new football coach last week, he couldn’t have been more thrilled about the road ahead.
Robinson, who graduated from the school in 1996, has spent the previous two seasons serving as the team’s offensive coordinator and briefly took over the program on an interim basis following the departure of then coach Matt Norris back in May.

Now, he gets a chance to be in charge.
“I’m super excited to be back home,” Robinson said. “I know the folks here and how hard they work. Everybody can expect a group that isn’t ever going to quit. We’ll be stronger than we have in the past. Putting people in the right position is my biggest concern for this upcoming season.”
The Eagles went through summer workouts with Robinson, who’s added six other coaches to the staff, and that’s been a solid help, according to the latter.
“We know where the kids kind of fit for the most part,” he said. “We’re going to have more help out there, too. Going through all our summer stuff together was very helpful, because we could change our workouts and the speed and pace of practice. We’re excited for the season to start.”
