Funerals plans for Dr. Lane Friedman are set for Saturday at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home.
Friedman, 62, who practiced at Cullman Internal Medicine, died in late June while on vacation with his family in Utah.
Visitation at the funeral home begins at 2 p.m. Saturday, with the service scheduled to begin at 4 p.m., according to Julie Mobley, Practice Administrator at Cullman Internal Medicine.
“We appreciate the many phone calls, e-mails, flowers and gifts that have been sent, but most of all we thank you for your prayers,” Mobley wrote in a news release today.
Friedman and his family were hiking in Spooky Gulch, a canyon area in Utah, when they became disoriented, according to the Salt Lake City Tribune.
Friedman continued to look for a trail out of the area where they had hiked, becoming separated from his family on Tuesday, June 27. He was found the next day by searchers. A medical examiner was working to determine the cause of death, according to the newspaper article.
Friedman is survived by his wife, Rachel Lynn Friedman; a daughter, Haley Lane Friedman; and two step-sons, Conner and Ross Clark.
