Pat spent her years in Holly Pond as an elementary school teacher. She also served in Montgomery when Gov. Guy Hunt was in office.

In recent years, she spent time traveling back and forth to Texas where her daughter and son’s families, including five grandchildren, currently reside.

Attending her farewell party were: Roy Graham (husband of the late Gayle Graham), Jamie D. Goeller, Rubyanne Edwards, Pat Thomason, Anne Hendon and Barbara Ragsdale, all members of Hill Top Garden Club; Darby Dickinson, granddaughter of Rubyanne, both of Hill Top; Elta Shoemaker of Retired Teachers; Cheri Christopher; and Earlene Johnson, Retired Teachers.

Pat was presented with a patriotic Eagle pin with spread wings studded with crystals and a pearl, as well as a wall hanging which reads “Someone in Alabama is praying for you.” Attendees signed the back of the Alabama-state shaped plaque with their love for their faithful friend. No tears, just the best of well-wishes and happy memories from loving “sisters-in-spirit.”
