There’s no place like Ashley HomeStore.

After a slight delay, the new furniture store opened its doors Thursday, bringing its brand of home furnishings to a newly remodeled 21,000-square-foot showroom at Town Square Shopping Center. The new location makes it the seventh Ashley HomeStore in Alabama.

Store Manager Keith Case felt confident the business has something to offer that residents can’t find anywhere else locally.

“We do things differently here,” Case said. “That’s why we call this a home store, because we want to take care of whatever it is you need.”

“I worked at the Fultondale store, and I’d say 20-30 percent of my customers were from Cullman.”

The franchise prides itself on helping people find what they want at the price they can afford. And if you’re looking for something that’s little bit unique, one of the bedroom sets is made entirely from reclaimed pallets, Case said.

“I’m hoping if it’s going to rain all weekend, people will come down and see us,” he said.

Ashley HomeStore is open 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12-6 p.m. Sunday. The store is next door to Hobby Lobby, filling the former site of HealthFit gym which relocated to a new location on Main Avenue Southwest.

Ashley has grown into a giant retailing chain with a wide range of furniture and accessories for homes and offices. It also has a separate company that manufactures furniture to provide for its retail establishments.
