Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate a fatal hit-and-run accident in Good Hope that killed a 75-year-old woman on Mother’s Day.

But no new information has turned up in the case, officials said. Helen Duke was found dead in a ditch nearby her home on Schwaiger Road May 14. Troopers believe she was struck by a vehicle — possibly a dark blue or black Ford F-150 or Expedition — at her mailbox and left for dead.

The wreck may have happened earlier in the day, but Duke was not discovered until her family found her that afternoon. They had arrived to have lunch with her for Mother’s Day.
