Ashley HomeStore is expected to open in about two weeks as work continues on its building in Town Square.

With 700 stores in operation in the United States and internationally, Ashley recently held a job fair in Cullman in anticipation of its opening. The store is next door to Hobby Lobby.

“We’re waiting for the glass to the front to come in and a few other things before they can do a soft opening,” Jason Grimmett of Drinkard Development said. “It may be two to two and half weeks before the opening. Once that is done you will see a very nice store with some of their top products.”

Drinkard Development owns the building and worked with Ashley to locate in Cullman.

Ashley has grown into a giant retailing chain with a wide range of furniture and accessories for homes and offices. The building at Town Square has been undergoing extensive renovation to provide 21,000 square feet for the retail operation. The store is expected to employ at least 25 people.

“Once the store has its soft opening, they will follow with a grand opening event,” Grimmett said.

Ashley also has a separate company that manufactures furniture to provide for its retail establishments.
