- Suspected drugs and paraphernalia were recovered by local agents during a traffic stop.
A traffic stop along U.S. 69 led to the second trafficking of methamphetamine arrest in a week by area drug enforcement agents.
Renae Williams, 40, of Holly Pond, was stopped at the intersection of Highway 69 and County Road 1693 Friday when Cullman Narcotics Enforcement Team agents reported seeing the suspect driving at a high rate of speed.
A K-9 deputy assisted the agents in a search of the vehicle and located a suspected 1.2 ounces of ICE, a purer form of meth. Agents also reported finding drug paraphernalia in the car, according to a news release from the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office.
Williams was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding.
“In two days, Thursday and Friday, we were able to seize almost 3 ounces of meth before it was distributed in Cullman County,” said Sheriff Matt Gentry. “CNET and all of our deputies have been doing a great job in finding and arresting drug dealers.”
Williams was being held in the Cullman County Detention Center with a $1 million.
