A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for portions of Cullman County after a severe thunderstorm was spotted with rotation, according to the National Weather Service.

The system is capable of producing a tornado. The projected impact areas include Cullman, Baldwin, Jones Chapel and West Point. The warning is in effect until 6:30 p.m.
