Cullman’s baseball team reclaimed the top spot in Class 6A when the Alabama Sports Writers Association released its final regular season baseball and softball rankings on Wednesday night.

The Bearcats (29-7) had been ranked behind No. 2 Helena (28-5) for the past two weeks.

The Black and Gold begin postseason play on Thursday with a first-round series against McAdory at Bill Shelton Field.

Cullman’s softball team stayed comfortably on the “others nominated” list in 6A, while West Point dropped out altogether in 5A.
