- Cullman police investigators recovered more than 2.3 ounces of alleged methamphetamine after executing a search warrant at the home of a Berlin resident.
A Berlin man is in jail following his arrest on meth-related charges stemming from the execution of a search warrant by the Cullman Police Department (CPD) late last week.
Joel Mabry, 49, was arrested after CPD Sgt. Chris Thomason, investigator Justin Craft, and officers Trey Higginbotham, Dustin Colburn, Chris Steele and Cole Kelley executed a search warrant at his residence east of Cullman on April 6.
According to a release, police found 2.3 ounces of methamphetamine, as well as “marijuana, a handgun, rifles and multiple items of drug paraphernalia” at the home, located on County Road 1605.
Mabry was arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, 2nd degree unlawful possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
An Albertville woman at the residence was also arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, after police determined she allegedly was in possession of MDMA pills (ecstasy) and drug paraphernalia.
Mabry was booked into the Cullman County Detention Center on a $1 million dollar bond. The other suspect, 41 year-old Caroline Mullins, was arrested on a $5,000 bond and has since bonded out of jail.
Cullman Police were assisted at the scene by Cullman County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Ryan Fortenberry and deputies Kevin Bowers and Ryan Black.
Investigators encourage any member of the community to report illegal drug information to Cullman police by calling 256-775-7179 or 256-734-1434.
