Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible today as a storm system moves into the region.

The National Weather Service reports a weakening line of storms will continue to advance eastward across northwest Alabama this morning, redeveloping into expected strong or severe storms in the early afternoon.

The rain and storms are expected to cross Interstate 65 around 2 p.m. or later.

A separate round of storms is possible this evening, along a slow-moving cold front. The main threat with this activity will be damaging winds, with a lower threat for hail and tornadoes.
