Sheriff’s office searching for woman who left animals at closed business

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the identity of a woman who dropped off 12 cats and two dogs at Stewart Animal Clinic in Warrior on Feb. 2. A surveillance camera shows a white female in a white Chevrolet S-10 leave the animals in a fenced area outside the clinic, which was closed at the time. The time stamp shows that the drop off occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m.
According to the sheriff’s office, there was no information or note left with the animals and no explanation of why they were being dropped off. The animals were taken to Greater Birmingham Humane Society Animal Control. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s off at (205)325-1450.
