Cullman man arrested on drug charges

A 54-year-old Cullman has been charged with intent to distribute drugs after a search of his vehicle Thursday.

Sgt. Chris Thomason and Officer Trey Higginbotham stopped a vehicle on Interstate 65 near the 309 mile marker for a traffic violation. Gaining consent to search the vehicle, officers reported finding 20 grams of methamphetamine, a loaded handgun, a Suboxone strip and drug paraphernalia, according to a press release from Cullman Police Department.

The vehicle’s driver, Timmy Dean Patterson, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the release.

On January 26th 2017, Cullman City Police Department Sgt Chris Thomason and Officer Trey Higginbotham stopped a vehicle on Interstate 65 near the 309 mile marker for a traffic violation. Officers gained consent to search the vehicle and recovered approximately 20 grams of Methamphetamine along with a loaded 9mm Betetta handgun, a Suboxone strip and drug paraphernalia. The driver of the vehicle, Timmy Dean Patterson, was arrested for possession with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Patterson was being held on a 22,000 bond in the Cullman County Detention Center.
