2 arrested in Hanceville on drug trafficking charges

Hanceville police have charged two people with drug trafficking following a traffic stop this week.
Michael James Coker, 42, and Robin Elliot, 34, both of Hanceville, were arrested Wednesday after a Hanceville officer stopped the vehicle driven by Coker, Hanceville Police Chief Bob Long said.
The officer reported seeing a bag tossed from the car. Another officer arrived and the bag was confiscated. Long said the bag contained about 56 grams of methamphetamine (ICE).
Both Coker and Elliot have a history of arrests for drug-related offenses. Long said complaints had been received at the police department.
Long said complaints had been received at the police department concerning recent activities involving Coker.
Coker and Elliot were being at the Cullman County Detention Center.
