Jefferson County BOE asked parents for calendar help

Based on the feedback from a previous parent survey conducted by the Jefferson County Board of Education, a Calendar Committee has created two options for each of the next two school years. The board is now asking that parents help the board select their schedule for those years.

According to the board, the options consist of Option A Calendars:

• Full week off for Thanksgiving Holidays

• Work day at end of 1st grading period

• PD day last Friday in October (Magic City Classic weekend)

• Students off 11 days for Mid-Year Holidays

Option B Calendars:

• Fall break for students (work day at end of 1st grading period followed by PD Day)

• Off 3 days for Thanksgiving Holidays
