- Two people robbed this Jet Pep service station, seen Monday, in northwest Cullman County Saturday night, and the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office is looking for leads.
Investigators have released surveillance footage from a gas station robbery that took place at Battleground over the weekend.
According to the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office, two suspects — a man and a woman — entered the Hilltop Jet-Pep service station at approximately 8:05 p.m. Saturday, leaving moments later with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The footage, taken from a video camera facing outside the customer entrance, shows only a brief glimpse of each suspect. Each is wearing a mask and hooded sweatshirt. The sheriff’s office has posted the video to its Facebook page in the hope of generating additional leads.
Sheriff Matt Gentry said his office is reserving the release of some details as the investigation continues, and encouraged anyone with information to contact investigator Trevor Clemmons at 256-734-0342, or to send a private message via Facebook.
The sheriff’s office confirmed that at least one of the suspects used a weapon, but investigators are still attempting to identify what kind.
“What we can say at this point is that they did brandish some type of weapon,” said Gentry. “We’re still working to determine what that weapon was.”
Although the robbery occurred during business hours, no customers were in the store at the time. No one was injured in the incident. Two suspects fled the scene in a vehicle.
